Research and development
Paving the way for recycled shingles
As Illinois' first shingle recycler, Falcon helped pave the way for the use of shingles in hot-mix asphalt. We have developed many more products to re-use and preserve our natural resources, and we invest money every year in the research and development of green products.
We are proud members of the Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA), and Falcon donates to the CDRA for the collective advancement of the industry.

The shingle brick
A new end market for asphalt roofing shingles
Falcon developed the shingle brick to create a new end market for asphalt roofing shingles. The blocks are 100% recycled content, made from manufacturers' defect shingles that are heated, mixed and formed into a block with excellent strength and crack resistance.
During the research and development phase, we made blocks and recorded the variables that shape the result. By learning to adjust them, we achieved an extraordinarily strong product with an attractive look.

Made with roughly 250 shingle bricks, some weighing 75+ pounds, the shingle brick road is an impressive sight. See it at our Washington Street office in Woodstock, and while you are there, stop in to ask about dumpster rental and junk removal.

Can I buy Falcon's recycled products?
